Possible new build, opinions welcomed

Hi All
It has been a while since I last built a PC and just wanted to get some thoughts on a build I am looking at. All parts are from one site and prices last until Tuesday so I need to make a decision.

The purpose of this build is to play games at 1080P and to be a general home machine which can handle large Excel files. I believe the i7 is over the top but my thought is the i7 might help with next gen games. I want to have a go at overclocking but also want to keep the machine as quiet as possible. I went with a 750W PSU as I think this should be enough for future SLI options. I will add a storage drive later as I have a few 2.5" drives which will do for now. The reason for NVIDIA is I will be buying a new monitor next year and want the option for G-sync.

So please let me know what you think. This comes in at £1,250 delivered and ready to build.

Tthat i7 right now is overpriced in my opinion for the performance to cost over the i5-4670k. I just threw on one SSD and typical 1 tb combo, you can switch them up and gave you what I consider a great case. Just take this build as a suggestion, you don't have to order everything exact. Also i noticed you are thinking of future SLI, a 750 watt PSU might cut it a little close. I would suggest the 850 watt

Thanks for the alternative, significant price difference. Do you think there is any merit in the 4770 over the 4670 for possible future proofing? I was thinking about a 850W PSU to give extra headroom but saw the deal on a Seasonic 750W although it is one of those things where going a little over the top never hurts.

Would the Hyper 212 Evo be as quiet as the h100i even with an overcook?

Well it's hard to say how games will change over a year or 2 from now, if AMD's Mantle does make a huge difference in gaming you will see people starting to suggest the 8 core 8320 build more often. So it's up in the air for now I suggest saving the extra $100 and waiting to see what happens. In 3 years time you can always switch to another chip/mobo combo if it is even needed. The Evo 212 is an awesome air cooler for the price, it does not cool as well as the H100i but it saves you the money.

Always go over the top with the Psu I wouldn't recommend anything less than an 850 for a person overclocking with an SLI/CF configuration. Oh and another thing I forgot to mention that the H100i and the evo212 both come with great thermal paste. So you can drop the artic silver off of the list

Thank you, I will drop the arctic silver and upgrade the PSU. I am a little undecided about the CPU & cooler choice, will give it some further thought. For the cooler I could leave the decision for a while as I won't be overclocking straight away so could leave it with the stock cooler for a month or two.

That would be the best choice, run stock let your system run normal to make sure everything is good before you start tinkering
