Hi all.
I really like this forum, but have never posted here before. I wanted to get your feedback on a system I plan to build with in the next few months. I built it with upgradeability in mind. I'll give you a quick reason I chose the part I did, and hopefully someone could point out anything I missed or a part that would better suit my needs.
Item #'s are from newegg. Too lazy to link right now. 🙁

I'm thinking a E6750 will over clock enough to keep me happy until the chips I want come out. Am I wrong?

Total as of today per my newegg wishlist : $1142.92 + shipping
My primary use will be gaming/tinkering, with all the utility stuff like web surfing, email etc.
I'll use Vista, but I don't want to shell out $300 for Ultimate.
The upgrade path I see goes like this.
Second Hdd, use Raid 0.
Second Gt8800 (Take that Crysis.)
Third Hdd. I'm thinking a smaller, faster spin hdd and run the OS off of it.
By now there should be a 45nm quad core I can grab reasonably inexpensively.
What do you think? I think I should be able to keep this a viable gaming rig for a long time with just those simple upgrades. So I think I found my best bang for the buck.
Please let me know if I missed something.
Iggy
