my laptop is plenty capable. it runs cod black ops 2 at a steady 120fps at med-high settings but does get somewhat warm, but not hot to the point where it is dangerous. I just was wondering if I could boost it at all, i could maybe plan to do a memory upgrade from dell to 32gb from its current 16gb ddr3 but it is fairly out of my budget. I know I can increase the turbo boost wattage in the Intel XTU, but I am still unsure as to what that would even do to make things better. is there anything I could do with the intel XTU? I just kind of want it to be faster when playing runescape 3.

no, you can't overclock your laptop. Laptops are not made for this. In regards to Intel processors you need the K versions to do that. The motherboard is not made for overclocking neither. You need very good motherboard components to do that since you need very reliable power distribution to the processor. Laptops are completely designed to run the CPU at spec. The cooling and everything is exactly balanced for the specific CPU. All the overclockers on this forum using high quality components to achieve the overclocks, including CPUs intended to be overclocked, crazy good coolers, motherboards designed for overclocking, and very reliable PSUs. And its all done on desktop computers...mostly self built.

These guys are right and i wouldnt suggest it but your going to do it anyway i guess. Your laptop is a business one if im correct (latitude e6430?) laptop has integrated HD 4000 intel graphics ( inside your CPU) and NVIDIA NVS 5200M graphics.

CPU overclocking: There is no overclockign options in your bios no need to even check it, you would need custom bios to have any change but there is no point since its i7 and your GPU is bottlenecking it so hard anyway. You could search fan options from bios and use maximum settings for performance if you can find any. GPU overclocking: Download MSI afterburner but dont do anything with it yet. Then download GPU-z and open it, look for default clock and GPU clock, post what figures you have on core and memory on these?
