I came home after a vacation today after a few days out. I came to my computer, pressed the power button to get it up and running, only to find it power on for a second, then turn off. After some failed attempts, I could smell burning electronics. I quickly opened my PC to find nothing out of the ordinary. I then found the source of the smell: My PSU

I took it out, switched it with a spare power supply, then tried to power it back on. Only the case fans were working, along with the CPU fan. My GPU fan was not spinning, so I took it out and smelt that same burning smell from my original PSU, but not as strong.

I think that somehow the PSU shorted out everything, which would totally suck. I've had it since late 2012, so that's maybe why it crapped out.

I really hope someone can help out with this, because I really need a PC for schoolwork and gaming!

My Specs:
GTX 750ti
Apeiva WIN 500w PSU
FX-6300(Stock, 3.5Ghz)
Gigabyte 970A-DS3P
Kingston Hyper Blue 8gb @1600Mhz

Solution
Your poor quality psu is dead. If your lucky it might not have taken other stuff with it but if you are unlucky it could have taken everything with it. Get a better quality new one and see if it works
