Possible Problem with Pagefile

My steam copy of GTA V was suffering from stuttering while moving at high speeds. I looked up a fix that told me to disable the pagefile. I found out the hard way that you absolutely should NOT do this. I figured this out when I started GTA V again and it crashed. I turned pagefile back on, restarted my computer, and ever since, most of my games have suffered from massive drops in performance, ranging from locked-at-30 fps, constant 15 frames per second, keyboard lag/delayed input response, to games just not launching. Now that I know the pagefile is virtual memory, I could understand having these problems with it off. However, it is happening even with the page file back on again. My question is, is there something else that I should have done apart from turning on the pagefile again, is this problem due to the pagefile disable, and given the situation, is it one that I can fix by simply tweaking things, or do I have to take it to a professional to get it fixed?

Here are my specs, hope it helps:

Lenovo Y700-15ISK Laptop (ideapad)

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz

Video Card Intel(R) HD Graphics 530

Video Card #2 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M

RAM 8.0 GB

Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 (build 14393), 64-bit

PS. Don't EVER disable the pagefile unless you ABSOLUTELY KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. You may mess up your computer.

PPS. People who answer, don't give me BS like "You're using the wrong brand processor" or "Intel and Nvidia suck" or any such tomfoolery. I don't need your fanboy crap, I just want to have my question answered.

(Sidenote: I will also be welcome to any suggestions of how to reduce GTA V driving stutter that do not involve pagefiles.)

Solution
As you mentioned, this doesn't sound like pagefile anymore. Check and make sure that your 960m is the primary card being used. A lot of those symptoms could be explained with your laptop defaulting to the HD 530.

HOLY GOD, dude! You just saved me from having a panic attack. Many thanks to you, sir.

Happy to help mate. That being said YOU'RE USING THE WRONG BRAND OF graphics PROCESSOR. :3
