Hey guys just seeking some help about my current PC issue

Few days ago pulled out my cpu fan to clean it, and upon placing back in, my pc does not fully start up, and takes a few tries to get past POST

It constantly turns on and off whenever I power it up and after a few tries does boot up and run but freezes when its loading windows and freezes after awhile after it fully boots.

I replaced my original gfx card (HD6950) as that was giving no signal whenever it fully booted as i thought that may be the problem with a GTX660 and I now get a signal but still freezes and takes multiple tries to boot.

Tried running with 1 stick of ram, and the PC with no case

Specs are

i5 2500k
4GB g skill ripjaws
Corsair tx650 psu
Gigabyte GA Z68P DS3 mobo

PC was built end of 2011

Any help is greatly appreciated

So I tried booting through the mobo graphics and still the same result. Ive checked that everything is secure, reseated the RAM and have used a diferent kit of RAM but the problem still exists

You may need to put some new thermal paste on your cpu. It may have faded after you cleaned your chip and the cpu may be heating up to much. There is a certain temp on cpu's which when it reaches that temp it automatically shuts down your system.

Nah I don't have an old psu to test on. One time it did boot, i checked the temperature of the cpu, gfx etc, and they were coming up as around ~34 degrees on idle

34 idle seems about right. it possibly is your psu and not a cpu issue

So I unplugged everything bar cpu, and mobo power connections and yeah still same results but one time I did get a POST screen so pretty certain it might be psu as you said

So if its not psu or cpu, then it is either your motherboard, ram or hard drive!!!!! Trail an error! I hope you have a spare hdd, ram or motherboard hanging around so you can try and see if the problem is with one of them. Im sorry to hear your still having problems. Its frustrating isnt it.

Well I tried different RAM and that did not work. Tried running with only the mobo + cpu and still does not boot justbkeeps going off and on, more leaning towards it could be my mobo
