Possible PSU failure

Sorry if this is not the right section to post.
I'm trying to learn to build a pc and currently building my very first custom pc.
The chassis for this build is the Aerocool xpredator x1 with an Asrock B85 Killer mobo.
After setting everything up before putting in the GPU and side panels I decided to plug the PSU in for a test. Nothing happened except an occasional single flash(lights up for a fraction of a second) from around the power button. I searched a few forums and seems that it could be a PSU failure.
Another possibility is that I might have plugged in the front I/Os wrongly as this is the first time I'm dealing with fan controllers(all the tutorials I've watched and learned from uses a case without a fan controller)

I did the paper clip PSU test and the PSU fan did not spin. However, the PSU is a ThermalTake Smart SE 630W and the 24pin is fully black(so I estimated the green pin which is usually the 16th), so I might be doing the PSU test wrong.

Can anyone please help to check my front I/O connections to see if they are correctly plugged in?

Just recheck the front panel by the manual,nobody can see that from a picture.
For the green wire look into this,

also connect it to a black wire.

If I could with just the manual I would've done it. The case's IOs are a lot different than the norm I've come across and this case doesn't even have a Reset.
I've just tried the paper clip test using the same paper clip on another PSU that has the colors exposed and that worked, so I'm more positive now that the current PSU is faulty. Will be contacting the store tomorrow and see how it goes.

Turns out the common components aren't even at fault. Found out that there's something wrong with the chassis's fan controller for whatever reason it cuts off the circuit (everything else starts up for half a second and turns off). Built the rig up nicely and everything without plugging in the fan controller. I have no use for it anyway.
