Hello experts,

I have a problem that I can't seem to diagnose.

Was receiving occasional crashing, and BSOD over the pass 2 weeks maybe 3 times. (Windows 8.1) This is a new system I have built and have built many others before.

My bios is set to default settings (I also set the XMP settings for the RAM to try and diagnose the problem)

I did a memtest in dual channel A1 and B1 slots received around 13000 errors. Also ran prime95 at stock and stopped working 1-10 min.
So i switched to single channel slots A1-A2 and B1-B2 received no errors for a while ran prime 95 and wasn't stable failed around 1-10min. Then I ran memtest and encountered errors. I tried slight overclocking with the CPU and 4.0ghz (4770k) and the crashing was more frequent.

I have also tested each ram, just one single ram stick on each slot and receiving no errors, so the RAM doesn't seem to be faulty.

What I have gathered so far from my testing is when I add more than one ram stick the system becomes unstable more unstable in Dual channel than a single channel configuration. I've also tried all MB slots

At this time i am running the system with Prime95 at stock with just one RAM stick and it seems to be stable.

System:

CPU 4770k
MB Asrock pro4 z87
Ripjaws 1866hmz RAM 14900CL9D-8GBXL
H100i Liquid cooling.

As a note temps are fine prime is giving me 53c at load 4770k. RAM is also warm, but not hot.

Thanks.

I just returned my RAM and got Sniper X. I checked the MB RAM capability and it's been tested so far so good even with a CPU overclock. I think it was just a capability issue with the MB, considering the RAM that was given to me doesn't appear on the MB support list. These days shouldn't really be a problem, I guess bad luck. Thanks for your suggestion, i'll update soon to confirm if it's stable.
