Possible to change AMD GPU naming?

I know I've read somewhere that you can flash the bios to change the GPU name however is there another way and is it risky to flash the bios?

I'm asking because amd gpus only show as 7900 series instead of the model of the card.

You can take the stream processor count and in doing so you can figure out which model it is.

...I know the cards I have, it's nicer to have the name displayed after all they are high end products. Like say if you got a BMW 7 series and all it said was BMW 7 series instead of the model number....

Yeah, I don't see your point, an HD7900 series is enough bragging rights.

But flashing a BIOS is a very bad idea just for bragging rights.

no1 rule, if it isnt broken... DONT FIX It. as the following members said flashing shouldnt be done until absolutely necessary. if i were you i just leave it as it is.

BIOS names are NOT added by AMD, its added by the manufacturer.
XFX, MSI, Asus, Sapphire, etc.

I know XFX and MSI do not always add the BIOS identifier.

I had a AMD card on a laptop and it didn't have the card named as well. In fact I've never seen any AMD card named, I owned an ASUS card and I know have a sapphire. Not sure about powercolor ect.
