Possible to RAID 0 with a 7200.10 and a 7200.11 drive?

Hi,

I have a Seagate Barracude 160GB 7200.10 drive and a 160GB 7200.11 drive that I want to put into RAID 0. Will this work? And if so, RAID 0 is the performance increase type of striping correct? How much will this speed up my system over one drive, and in what areas?

There is no reason why it should not work.

It should be possible but I would not do it ... raid is supposed to be used with identical drives.

Are you sure you have a 160gb 7200.11 ? I thought the .11 started with 320gb capacity http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/desktops/barracuda_hard_drives/barracuda_7200.11/

after this question I decided to try something similar,

I have a raid 0 running on a P35 with a 500GB 7200.10 and a 7200.11

Where did you get the drive?

They certainly don't list a 160GB version on their website
