Possible to run TV and monitor at same time from PC?

I have a Geforce GTX 970 which has a HDMI and DVI port. I also have a monitor with a DVI port and a flat screen TV with a HDMI port. The PC is in my bedroom and the TV in my living room. My question is, for watching movies and playing games would it be possible to buy an extended HDMI cable and run it from my PC to my TV? At the same time, for general web browsing and productivity (excel, MS Word, writing emails, etc), I'd still like to keep my PC in my bedroom and use it with my monitor. So really, I'd like to have both my TV and monitor connected.

Any idea if something like this is possible?

Sure can.

For my R9 290 I have a 25ft HDMI cable running from my PC to my TV and two monitors connected via DVI.

Different card, but it'll be the same premise.
