Hi there, I'm new here, I hope you're doing well.
I have a Sony Vaio laptop S series, has the core i3-3110M 64-bit 2.40Ghz 8GB RAM, and I was wondering if I can upgrade my CPU to i5 or preferably i7?
If so, please guide me through this upgrade and tell me which Core i5-i7 would suit me the most and have the same socket of i3-3110M.
Thank you so much in advance.

Solution
The M series are not soldered on, so you will be able to replace it, however you cannot replace it with anything more than a dual core, as quad cores have higher TDP which is not supported by your laptop. Best you could get is an Intel Core i7-3540M.
