Possible to use ddr3l ram on ddr3 Motherboard?

Hello, I'm building a PC soon. And I've built a PCPartPicker list. Now for my ram I chose the: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory. I went to the Corsair website, and it said ddr3l. Now my motherboard is pretty old. It's an Asus sabertooth x58 Mobo. It uses ddr3 ram. And the CPU is a Xeon x5660. Is it possible that the ram will work fine. I know the ram will be downlclocked from the CPU.

should be fine just be sure the voltage is not set too high like 1.5 or 1.65 v it s just a low voltage ram at 1.35v

Crucial has ddr3l listed on there compatible list for your board as there guaranteed to work memories

don't look like they recommend any ''L'' ddr3 or any over 1600 speed ???

maybe best to use something they will back up to work from there compatible lists to be safe
