Possible upgrade to gaming/streaming rig

Hey all

So, currently stream and game from this rig:

Intel I7 7700k
Nvidia gtx 1070
Asus prime zz70-k
16gb Ram 3000mhz
1Tb storage

But recently finding that my games lag or skip. I wondered if it was to do with something needing to be upgraded as my Internet if fine, software, drivers ect.

Any help would be amazing

It might be the CPU because its a quad-core. Do you play intensive games while streaming ? Also, did you check your temperatures while you play?

I play things like R6, pubg, overwatch..
I've checked temps and they all seem OK.
What would be the next cpu from what I have that's compatible with my motherboard?

Intel I7 7700ki is the best for your current motherboard. While you stream and play, you can check the CPU and GPU usage in Task Manager. Also, it might be because of your OBS settings...Other things you can try: quick ram test (follow this guide https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff700221.aspx), check for malware with Emsisoft Emergency Kit/Zemana Antimalware, set power options to "high performance", check your CPU for problems with this tool from Intel (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool), close some back background programs etc.
