So, I just built my first pc last night and used a case one of my friends used to have. Essentially, everything is fine minus the two usb 3.0 ports on the front. The issue isn't that I don't have 3.0 slots on my mobo, it'seems just that it is simply full size usb plugs running from the port to the mobo. What can I do go get these hooked up?

You have a 3.0 header at the bottom of the board, near the middle?

Which case is this? do you know? Are they 3.0 or 2.0 as those are different connectors. If they're just female USB on one end and male on the other, they might just be extensions for your rear I/O....... but that would be odd.

You'll have to provide pics mate , not sure what the issue is

As MM asked, can you provide pics? From the specs: http://www.coolermaster.com/case/full-tower/haf-x-nvidia-edition/
It appears to have both of those connecors MM linked. The left runs to near the middle on the bottom of your board and the right runs to the header slightly to the right of the 3.0 port. You have both 3.0 and 2.0 on the front panel.

Actually, looking again, there are two variants of the case (see the notes at the bottom of the page)
http://www.cmstore.eu/spare-parts/haf-x-usb-card/

One has simple 'pass through' where you run the front panel USB 3.0 to the back of your motherboard and it uses that port.
The second variant attached the the onboard 3.0 header.

Sounds like you have the original. Route them to the rear of the motherboard as intended, or you add additional 3.0 ports on the rear as MM linked.
