Hello,
I have this super strange behavior where I install a new OS on a blank SATA hard disk on a Supermicro X6DVL-EG2 (2005!) motherboard. The PXE boot and OS installation is ok, but on reboot, the POST hangs just after hard disk detection (SMART status shown) with a diagnostic number 0078 in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
I first thought it was due to a too large disk (2TB), but the same occurs with a 80GB one. I can't even go to BIOS setup, unless I remove all hard disks in the system.
status 0078 is not mentioned into Supermicro X6DVL-EG2 User's manual and I found an ami bios 78 status saying "Display CMOS error messages".
Best regards
