I am unable to get posts or replies to me to my email account.
The account address seems correct and the "Always notify me of replies:" radio button is selected YES.
I also select "Notify me when a reply is posted" checkbox.
I remember this working before, but not now.
Anything else I can check?

After double checking your email, if nothing else works, pls contact webdog, and he can change you to another email address. I am receiving the alerts, so there might be something with your email server that is not accepting the messages.

My email is hotmail so I don't expect any problems with that. (others can email me)

Just send a private message (PM) to 'webdog'. Your account is the only one that seems to have this problem.

Are you kidding? Hotmail's automated spam filtering is notorious for filtering waaaaay too many things that aren't actually spam. As a hotmail user myself, I had to turn off the spam filter in the end because the spam holding tank is cleared every 5 days, and there are times when I just don't check my email that often. I was losing a lot of important email because of that darn spam filter.

Actually, I have a very similar problem. I get about half of the notifications for messages. For instance, There is one in the Hardware section about a $7000 rig. I was watching it, and I haven't got a message since yesterday afternoon, and there has been a whole page added since then.

That is not the only case either. It seems like I only get notified for threads that I very actively reply to. If I only post once or twice, I don't get notified after a day or so.

[Edit] I am using Gmail and receive most notifies fine, so I don't think that is the problem[/edit]

After a notification, one has to visit the thread, otherwise no more notifications are sent. Maybe that is what you are seeing?

Im not sure. I susually check every notification unless I get more than one. Then I just check the most recent.

enewmen, I just received a notification about this thread. My guess is that the system has a problem with your email account. May I suggest you try another account as a test. Go to Profile, and change your email there.

I don't think its as simple as an email address problem. I have had issues with not being notified intermittently without rhyme or reason. I have had the same email the whole time I've been a member. Maybe when the system is loaded down it is missing some?

Thanks for the test message.
I did not receive the test message in my old or new email address.
I did get a confirmation email when I changed email addresses.
(The new email is not hotmail and has no filtering)

Thanks for talking about Dr Who. This series and Tom Baker is (Still) very popular in America (for Sci Fi people over 30 years old). The same people that still watch Monty Python (This includes the Red Dwarf). These actors get a warm welcome every time they come to the States. Just FYI.

I recieved a notification for this one, and have received most of them lately (that I know of). As I said, it is very erratic in its behavior, and has always worked when I try a test with a moderator.
