I’ve been acquiring PC parts for a while, however today I learned there’s a possibility of me unknowingly causing an ESD. The main thing I’ve done is Touched the outside “shell” of my GPU while standing barefoot on carpet. I’ve never touched the direct card. Have I messed anything up?

Solution
Yeah, not likely. Damage caused to computer components by ESD tends to be relatively uncommon. You should ground yourself periodically while assembling a PC by touching a bare metal part of the case to dissipate any charge you might build up, but your chances of damaging something like a graphics card by just carrying it around are pretty low.
