Everyone,

I am currently running an I5 4690K with a GTX 1070 and 32gigs of ram. I am noticing that I am having to make compromises to get more frames in games such as GTA V and other recent games. I was wondering what the next logical step would be with an upgrade and i obviously know it will not be the graphics card at least for another couple years hopefully.

Thanks,

I think that is more of a preference call. If you are going to go with a skylake or kaby lake upgrade then I would just go ahead and suggest a ryzen build to save tons of money for similar if not better performance (depending on your choice). If you are going to stay on the same motherboard then sure i don't see why not. However, if you plan to stay on the older board I stand by my previous remark about a better cooler and just overclocking to save some money.

The only thing I would upgrade from this is maybe the CPU. However, grabbing a decent liquid cooler or even a good air cooler and overclocking is always a viable option ;) A change in CPU could also result in the need for a new motherboard/ram (depending on sockets and compatibility) I would suggest looking into what your motherboard can take as far as upgrades on a CPU and then go and do comparisons to find your best value! Good Luck!

Thanks any build from this point would require a new motherboard and memory with the CPU upgrade. Is upgrading to the I7 a good call or something else? I only ask because in games like Watch Dogs 2 i get low 40FPS which for PC is unacceptable to me.
