Potential PSU Issues with GPU

Will the Rosewill Hive 550W be enough for the MSI GTX 970 gaming edition? I've ordered both but am now doubting if it will be able to power the GPU safely.

Yes the PSU will have enough wattage and even a good amount of headroom for the GTX 970. The GTX 970 has a TDP of 145w so you shouldn't have any problems at all. Game on!

Actually the main problem I was looking at was if the 12 V ramp could handle the GTX 970, since apparently it needs 42 amps but this power supply does not output that, but I'm not entirely sure. Do you think the power supply can handle the card in terms of that? Thanks!

They always recommend have have more amps for other components of your PC (CPU, fans, motherboard) but a 145w 970 definitely doesn't need 42 amps of power.
