[SOLVED] Potential RAM problem

When I plug 16gb g.skill 2400 rgb ram into my asus z370 rog strix i gaming motherboard, an orange error light shines on the qled. On the manual, orange light signals a ram problem. I also got BSOD signalling driver or Ram issues. I just replaced the ram with new ones yet the light is still on.
Any ideas on what it could be?

make sure your bios is up to date, and make sure your ram is compatible with your mainboard, see support page for your mainboard, there should be QVL list for tested rams with that board
