Hi all! I have an HP Pavilion M6-1035dx gaming laptop that I bought new in 2012. While it has been a rather reliable and overall excellent gaming laptop, it is beginning to show it's age on some games. Perfect example would be the StarCraft 2 trilogy. While the first two games in the trilogy play well enough, the last game is slow and choppy, with average to below average video settings selected in the game options.
There are upgrades available for this laptop, and I'm considering upgrading the RAM and HDD specifically. The following is what's installed, and what I'm considering upgrading to:
RAM - 6GB DDR3 SDRAM (2 slots) - can upgrade to a max of 16GB DDR3L
HDD - 640GB 5400RPM drive - can upgrade to Solid State, multiple capacities
Other components include:
2.3 GHz AMD A10-4600M Processor
AMD Radeon 7660G Graphics Card
Windows 10 64 bit (was upgraded from Win 7)
Given this information, would it be more economical and worth it to sink some upgrade cash into the RAM and HDD for this laptop, and see if it can continue gaming for another few years? Or should I scrap it, and just get a new gaming laptop?
Thanks ahead of time for any info everyone!
