Question Potentially Broken Extended Storage ?

I started experiencing problems with my extended storage for my ps4 a couple of days ago. I first though that the ps4 was the problem, but it wasn´t. So I switched the USB cable for a new one and tried plugging it into my computer. Since the computer couldn´t see the drive I had to format it to exFat. This made the pc and the ps4 able to see the extended storage drive. The drive however starts lagging my computer and freezes some programs when it is plugged in. I am also unable to run CHKDSK or move anything to the disk since it freezes both processes. Can I do anything about this? Any help is appreciated.

I have a Seagate Game Drive for PS4 1.8TB

If drive has warranty on it, RMA it.

If not, buy a new drive. Since what you describe, is dying drive.
