Someone is selling this for $600 and was hoping for opinions on if it's worth it and what's the upgradable potential of it. Thank you in advance.
This is a brand new build from us starting with the awesome Rosewill Galaxy Case. The base of the PC is a refurbished Asus P5N-D motherboard with an Intel Q9550 processor. This processor has a 2.83Ghz base clock speed but with it's massive aftermarket Thermaltake cooler it has already been AI Overclocked to 3.13Ghz. This processor has massive overclocking capabilities if done carefully in a carefully controlled environment.

NEW massive 2 GB GDDR5 Asus Radeon HD 7870 CU ii OC which runs at 256 bits. here's what Newegg Say's about this card:
The ASUS HD7870-DC2-2GD5-V2 graphics card with Radeon HD 7870 GPU brings 28nm GPU advancements to a cost effective segment that combines great gaming and overclocking performance with the value sought by budget gamers. It ships with advanced GPU core with 1000MHz clocking speed while running 20% cooler than reference for improved stability, longevity, and overclocking. Bundled ASUS GPU Tweak makes tuning easier and deeper than before. Packed with incredible features, such as PCI Express 3.0, the ultra-efficient AMD ZeroCore Power technology and AMD Eyefinity technology, the ASUS HD7870-DC2-2GD5-V2 enables series gaming.

Then to ensure proper speed for a gaming PC we installed a 64GB Sandisk SSD as a boot drive. This drive dramatically increases the boot speed of the PC and loading of programs installed on it- there are approx 21Gb's of free space left on the SSD. The data drive is a Western Digital Caviar Black 750 GB edition which is a top rated drive and gives any user plenty of storage for program installation and media.

This all comes with 8GB's of gaming DDr3 RAM. The RAM is a mix between several different brands but is all 800MHz RAM and all come with almost the exactly the same timings. This RAM helps ensure your ability to not only game effectively bit also to multitask with ease.
This is all powered by a new 650 Watt Ultra LSP power supply. Well over the power needed to run this machine. These are well reviewed power supplies that have always worked well in any machine I've built.

Not worth $600.

Ram is only running at 800Mhz which is slow. The powersupply has a very small 12V rail rated at only 38A where 50A is standard. I cannot find it on the toms hardware psu teir list which is a touch surprising.

The Q9550 is a very old processor released in 2010. It is around half as good as an I5 4790. If it goes wrong good luck ever finding a replacement that doesnt cost a fortune. (Same goes for motherboard)

The graphics card is 2 years old and actually isnt that bad, but dont expect to be running new games at high settings. Just remember that the quote from Newegg is what they will have said when the card released...

The upgrade path from this would involve getting a new CPU, motherboard and Ram. So the upgrade would instantly cost upwards of $400.
