Define Portrait Orientation

Your picture/text will be printed so that it is viewed with the paper's long axis vertical and the short axis horizontal - the same way around as a portrait picture (imagine the Mona Lisa).

The alternative is landscape, as this is typically the orientation used for pictures of landscapes, i.e. with the long axis of the paper horizontal.
