Question Power button doesn't work and can't short pins

I am having an issue with my new build where the only way I can turn my system on is by using MSI's BIOS Flashback. This means I have to update my BIOS every time as a means of powering on my computer!

As mentioned in the title, using the power button doesn't work (I've gone over the manual many times to check the header is in the right place) and there's no power on button on the mobo as far as I know.

I've tried putting the power on header on the reset button pins to try and use the reset button to power on with no luck.

Finally, I tried shorting the power on pins with a screwdriver which didn't work either.

I am using a Tomahawk B450 mobo, I'd appreciate any help, thanks!

Per your post: "This means I have to update my BIOS every time as a means of powering on my computer!

Check that the CMOS battery is correctly installed. And try another CMOS battery.

Then consider that the power button is not working. Are you able to remove the button and test it with a multimeter?
