Question Power button lights up by itself and can't start laptop

So i have a HP probook 4740s and while i was using my laptop it turned of because my battery ran out. Once i plugged it back in the power button started glowing all by itself and when i press it nothing happens. You can't even hear the vents start or anything. I tried taking out the battery and unplug it from the charger and pressing the button for 60 sec but that also didn't help. I left it over night unpluged and in the morning i could start it normaly. Now accidentaly it shut down again because of the battery and i have the same problem. I left it overnight like the last time but nothing happened. I even tried to take out the CMOS battery and put it back in but with no success. Any ideas ?

7 yr old system, chances are the motherboard is bad if it won't turn on even after you reset the system without the CMOS battery.
