Hello all! New here at Toms.
So...I'm trying to find a power cable to add a SSD.
I have a Dell Inspirion 3650.
It seems that almost all of the 6 pin connectors I looked at have a different "key" configuration.
My question is what specifically is this connector called...and possible a source to but on.

Thanks in advance

The power connection for a SATA drive is the left one on this:

It comes directly off the PSU.

Thanks for the answer....but its not what I was looking for...probably wast clear.
So...I'm good with the power connector end at the hard drive.
Its from the PSU that's the problem.
So the PSU is supplying power to the mother board AND DOSNT HAVE ADDITIONAL CONNECTION TO USE.
So...I have to use the ports on the mother board. The enclosed pictures are of the SATA cable that already installed.
I just wanna but another...or at least know what that type of power connector is called.

Your pics don't show up.
But I am unaware of any POWER for a drive that can come off the motherboard.

Try uploading your images to imgur.com.

There are no connectors off the PSU. The PSU just has a plug for the MB.
And...those do work for a drive...the ones on the mother board are labeled SATAP1 and SATAP2.
The pictures I posted are from the existing installed SATA hard drive and DVD.

That 6 pin thing plugs into a DVD drive?

Then it would seem that your current motherboard and PSU, and the whole rest of the system is very Dell proprietary.
Very non-standard, and I am unaware of any adapters to connect more drives.

No...the 6 PIN Connector plugs into the mother board....good grief.

I'm scratching my head over here....thanks for the effort though.

Right. That 6 pin talks to the motherboard.
So...in your system, what actually connects to the DVD and/or HDD?

The DVD/SATA ends are standard.
