I purchase a MSI GeForce 980Ti 6Gb Gaming Golden card at auction. I opened the package and there is no manual or power adapters. My current computer has a Evga GeForce 570. The psu connects directly to the 2 6pin PCI male housings on the 570 GPU. I have one 6pin PCI to 8pin PCI adapter cable. Do I need 2 to connect to the 2 8pin PCI male housings on the 980 GPU? Or do I only need one? There is only one 6-8 PCI adapter in the package. If I only need one adapter which of the 2 housings do I connect the 8pin PCI converter cable to (the one at the back of the card or the one closer to the front)?

If your power supply does not have any 8 pin PCIe power cables, it may not be able to run the 980 Ti. Not to mention the fact that if you bought the thing at an auction without testing it, the card itself may not be working properly.

What is the brand and model of your power supply?
