First time building a PC in ages. Got to the final step, installing GPU. Never used PCI-E or really any decent card before.

My question is about the top power connectors. on the NVIDIA guide it says there should be a 6 pin and an 8 pin connector, however my card has two 8 pin connectors.

My PSU cable labeled PCI-E has two sets of 6 pin and 2 pin that can snap together. I'm guessing this means I need to combine both of those and use them both on the single card. Is that right?

I also have these two little 6 pin to 8 pin adapters, but I don't remember if they came with the GPU or another component. I'm not sure if these are meant to be used here.

Thanks for the help!

Solution
Some non-reference cards uses two 8 pin PCIE to provide more power.
Yes the 6+2 pins PCIE are used to fit into the 8 pin slots. You need two 6+2 pin PCIE from your power supply.
You shouldn't need the adapters really. Your power supply should have them already.
What is your power supply? Brand and model?

Thanks guys! PSU is the Corsair CX600M I just saw that 600W is the minimum NVIDIA recommends so hoping for the best!

Super stoked! If anyone cares, other parts are
Intel i7-4790
ASUS H971+ Mini ITX
16GB Ballistix
240GB SSD
1TB HDD

First PC I've built since around 2004

Sounds good man, I have the exact same card, and I hooked it up using just one psu cable with the two connectors (like you said "My PSU cable labeled PCI-E has two sets of 6 pin and 2 pin that can snap together. I'm guessing this means I need to combine both of those and use them both on the single card. Is that right?").
Also you do not need to worry about those adapters, those are only needed if your psu does not have the proper cables (they came with the graphics card).

Why do you say that, because of the quality of the psu?

Comfort zone is a personal thing.
A quality 550W that has at least 40 Amps on the 12V rails will be sufficient in powering your pc config.
Your power supply meet the requirement already.

3D Guru stated this
In theory this PSU could hold two GeForce GTX 760 cards

I wouldn't agree with this entirely, he should have at least the recommended amps for the card which is 42 Amps not 40 (He has 46 so he's fine).

Sure you can! Use MSI afterburner to monitor the power your GPU is using!
