Power connector for GTX 1080

I have 980 Ti EVGA. 8-pin and 6-pin power connector. For 1080 I need just 8-pin power connector. My question is how do I change those connectors when I am installing the card?

Okay, so I my power connector is for 980ti. 6 and 8-pin. GTX 1080 requires only 8-pin. So, what do I do with the 6-pin one? I can't just let it swing inside of my computer.

And why can't you let he other connector just 'swing' inside your computer? Everybody else does it that way or they get a power supply that has only 1ea. 8 pin (6+2) connecting cable to the PSU.

You can have a look around at PC stores, they sell the mollex to 8-pin connectors for cheap. If you can unplug the 6-pin from the PSU (might be connected with mollex also) and then just plug the 8-pin in the place of the 6-pin. If you can't unplug it, let it "swing" inside your pc.
