Power Cord Requirements

Hi. I just bought an EVGA 550W G2 power supply. I got a 10amps power cord with it, but the cable does not fit my socket. I have another power cord from an older psu, which states 13amps, which does fit the socket. Will i be able to use it with my EVGA power supply?

Curious how does it not fit your socket? If your socket doesn't have a grounding pin that is something you should definitely get.
Either way a 13amp power cable would be more than fine.
That is rated for 1560 watts.

Certainly, as long as the voltage is the same. That supply should support anything from 100-250VAC.
Worst case scenario you shouldn't see more than 6 or 7 amps draw (at 115VAC) from the wall with a 550W supply.

Ah so you have a US power cable, yeah just use your old on its fine.
