My power supply is a coolermaster RS-600-PCAR-E3..

I'm unsure whether or not i can run crossfire radeon 6850's.

I currently have one installed and i see that is takes 2 six pin power connectors, does this power supply have 2 more for another card?

Catually i think it needs ONE 6-pin , and some sort of crossfire bridge.
Not safely ;

Guru3D's power supply recommendation:

Radeon HD 6850 x1
On your average system the card requires you to have a 450 Watt power supply unit.

Radeon HD 6850 x2
A second card requires you to add another ~130 Watts. You need a 650 Watt power supply unit.
it CAN handle it, but the PSU wont last long, because they generally SHOULDNT be stressed beyond maybe 70% of its total power for prolonged amounts of time.
And are you SURE they need TWO connectors, cause two in CF have a TDP of 250W.
Thats 150W from mobo and two 6-pin connectors (75Wx2). Re-check that.

AMD recommends a 550w power supply for a system with 2 x HD 6850s.

The bad news is that you have a Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus power supply. It's made by Seventeam and known to be junk. In fact it can only put out 450 watts.

I would not trust it to power 2 HD 6850s. Go with a quality unit from Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, XFX, Silverstone, Enermax, OCZ or Antec of 550-600 watts.

A solid 550w should be the way to go, you will have more than enough in reserve to so you will not be running any overvoltage situations.

I am now sold on XFX products, the XFX Pro 550w should be a relatively inexpensive unit with high end components.

Good point out on the CrossfireX, don't want to be buying two cards realizing your board is only SLI ready. The interconnect normally comes with the cards or the motherboard if it is CFX ready.

6850's are not power hungry but most of the good value PSU's are in the 600w range which is more than enough.

No a HD 6850 is a single 6pin PCI-E connection.

As for the PSU the Extreme Powers are not designed for high peformance gaming systems or multi card systems, it is very basic and unfortunately basic creates problems. I would invest in a better build quality, skimping is the way to run into trouble, the PSU is your backbone.

I only have one currently.
Just bought the computer.
I think this gpu will run on only one 6 pin connector and needs 2 to be overclocked..
I just need someone to reassure me before I buy another card

I ran 2 5850's overclocked on a Seasonic 650X power supply with an i7 950 overclocked and 5 HDDs. I never drew more than 450 watts according to the UPS.

I also used adapters to give me the PCIe connectors for the 2nd card.

Ok here's a link to the gpu I have
http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/AMD_Series/EAH6850_DC2DIS1GD5V2/
At the moment it is using both of the six pin connectors... But I don't think it needs too. I think it can be ran with only 1 hooked up, at least I've read of someone doing that..

So that being the case, if I install another card and have both using one six pin, and attach the crossfire cable between the two will it work?

The card is the main part of confusion, since some 6850s have 1 six pin and these have 2.

Would it be safe for me to unplug one of the connectors and try to boot up?

Factory overclocked non reference card. If it has two 6 pin connectors then it needs them both. Based on adding a second card like that up my recommendation above to a 600-650w power supply from those brands. You will need one with 4 x 6 pin connectors. It's a bad idea to run adaptors unless you have to.

Ok, when I get hone tonight I'll look at my whole setup and post it so you can recommend a power supply, I know its an Asus p7p55, 1Tb 7200rpm hd, I3 550 @ 4.2 GHZ,

It also has a cooling unit hooked onto the motherboard, and an additional fan in the back, both are made by cooling master

The rest of your components don't really matter.

Any of these are excellent choices and they all have the 4 x 6 pin connectors you need. The only bad thing is that cheaper models lack the extra 6 pin connectors. The good news is that these are all top quality units.

The TX ( you linked to ) only has 2 x 6(+2) pin connectors. He would have to use adapters.
