I plan on buying an ASUS PA278QV monitor.
My PC is an HP Pavilion p7-1070t
Both the monitor and PC have a 24 pin DVI port each.
I do not plan on any gaming.
The PC has a Max of 300W power supply.
The monitor states 18.6W when on.
Do I have enough power to run the 1440p monitor properly without an added GPU ?

Solution
So a GPU is only needed for gaming ?
A GPU is meant to produce video signal,by a video cable (DVI in your case),it has nothing to do with powering the monitor.
The only connection to the PC and the monitor is the video cable, nothing else.
GPU does what you want it to do,whether that is gaming or rendering, you decide that.
