Power Graphics Cards With Split Connectors ?

Hello everyone and today I am here to ask if it will be safe to power my 7970 and my 280x ,in crossfire, with 2 6/8 pin connectors. Rolli59 has said my power supply can power these cards but I was wondering if I can use just one split connector for each card. Thanks and sorry if this sounds confusing.

If you mean only plugging in 1 connector to each card when you need two for each, then no. You need to have both plugs plugged into your GPUs otherwise you'll see crashes when the GPU is under load if it even turns on. You could try molex to 6 pin converters, but it won't be as stable.
