power led too bright

i have a corsair obsidian 250, it has one white led for power and one white for hard disk activity

i found both to be too bright in the night

i was thinking on just covering the front of the button but the clean looks of the case would be compromised with that

i was thinking more in using some kind of filter or something over the led, or inside the button

i think i can reach that part since i can remove the front of the case(apart from the fan filter of course)

what could i use for this?

A black permanent marker works well, it will not be completely blacked out the first time you "draw" on whatever you want darker-led or cover. Try drawing on something other than you case to see how it works

but, draw over the led, or over the button? it is a rather, well, permanet solution!

just hit me, a xray sheet could do it, right?

or a piece of plastic with the permanet marker? even more simple?

how stupid is the idea of use colored filters to make blue the white power led and red the hard disk led, without changing the leds itself?

i can change them but i don't want the hassle of soldering new leds

Go for it I've used the permanent marker and the first time you draw it's opaque almost impossible to black it out completely even after multiple strokes

unplug the power light/hdd light cables from the motherboard that will make them not light up

well, yes, unplugged they won't do any harm to my eyes, of course

about permanet marker, will try it as soon as i can shut down the pc, is processing some files now, thanks for the suggestions
