Hello all! I'm in need of your help.

I have a Gateway desktop which that is giving me a headache. The thing is that I will turn it on and I can hear things running (no beep though) but the power indicating light keeps blinking and nothing will appear on-screen, not even BIOS. This problem is recurrent, usually it sorts itself out don't ask me how. But yesterday I was decided into trying to understand the problem, so I opened the PC up, reseated the CPU, changed the rams positions, checked and replugged the connections with the dedicated videocard and HDs... Didn't work. So then I tried plugging my monitor into the onboard output, still nothing. And my last try I plugged a different working monitor to the pc, in both onboard and dedicated outputs, which also didn't work.

Over the years I've had 2 problems with this pc, I had to buy a new PSU and a new Video Card.

What can this be, does anyone have any idea? Thanks!

Today I was going to remove the CR2032 battery and try to start my pc. However, before doing so I tried turning it on and it magically worked, there was a beep and the bios appeared, OS started up etc etc. Everything was perfect as if there never had been a problem, and I had done nothing to solve this other than what was already mentioned.

So again I ask, does anyone have ANY idea of what might be causing this problem? I would love to never have this recurring problem again, for the pc be reliable. I can't just wait 1 week every time it gives an error so that it will "fix itself". I looked in the manufacturer's website and unfortunately there is no BIOS update..
