Power Line Network Question

So I am thinking of giving power line networking a shot to get better performance for my Steam Link. As it turns out the modem is also next to the TV since the cable setup in this place is limited and so I have one really long cable running from it to my router next to my desktops (figured it's better to run one long cable than 2)

I was wondering, if I were to get a couple dual socket power line adapters, would I be able to have both the modem to router connection and a normal device connection at the same time? Would there be a conflict having both the modem and a device connection running through the same adapters?

I hope this makes sense, I feel like I might be over thinking this. Thanks!

Not sure exactly what you are proposing and why but I suspect it will not work.

Lets say you were to use a switch instead. You connect the WAN and the LAN port to the switch as well as a PC and the modem. You at this point have overlapped the WAN network and the LAN. If you work at it very hard...ie used static ip...you could make it work but it is extremely non standard and would likely end up with strange issues now and then. Powerline acts as a switch but you now have added the complexity of the powerline networking.

If you are using a ethernet cable already to connect between the modem and router I would stay with that unless for some reason you just can't. Ethernet will always out perform powerline and there is no issues...
