Power off lag time

I noticed that sometimes when I switch off my desktop, the monitor goes black first while the power to the tower remains on for several minutes after (longest was 10min before I did a hard reset).
Is there something wrong with the system?
What should I do if it doesn't power off in the future?

Sounds like some issue with the system software properly shutting down.

As for how to address the issue, it depends what setup you have. If it's Windows 10 you can try doing the "RESET PC" option. It's simple, but just google for how (make sure to choose to keep your data and applications).

You can also test this by creating a Linux distro. for example, boot to linux on USB then shut down linux. If that works fine it proves it's a software issue with Windows.
