Hello. thank you in advance for your help :)

i have a socket 1366 motherboard, specifically ex58 extreme by gigabyte with a core i7 920.

when i turn on the pc, it wont start. all the fans/leds etc will work, but pc wont start. the motherboard has a number indicator of the problem, and it shows 88 but all leds are turned on, not like the number for the problem is 88 but its like all the posible lights on the led indicator are turned on (hence the 88), plus there is no troubleshoot for number 88.

but when i turn the pc on via the motherboard on button (not the case) sometimes this happens:

it starts normals, and tries to work (number others than 88 are shown on the led) but then it either turns off completely, or turns off then restart, but showing 88 again 🙁

if i turn it on, and when it shows 88 i turn it off, over and over again, there is a time when it starts normally, with other numbers, not 88, but ff. and it works normally, no problems.

but its a pain to continue like that plus idk if it will broke soon 🙁

what do u think it can be? motherboard? case on-off swtich? power supply? ty 🙁

I guess it's late now but anyway try to cut the power from PSU for a fraction of a second and as soon as its on again turn on the pc. If most of the times this makes your pc to boot up normally then its most likely that your PSU got old.
i would for testing replace the cmos battey if it low or weak stange issue at post can happen. on your power supply if you have a volt meter check the power good line to see if it has the right voltage..some time old power supply this line can fail. the 8x code in the old mb guild is pci device. if you have a sound card or other pci device pull it for testing. try another video card too.

hi, thanks for your answers guys :)

i have a thermaltake toughpower 600w and 9600gt sli (i know, i know, its a long story xD), but ive tried with only 1 video card, to remove load on the psu.

and yeah ill try tomorrow when i have time for it, the case switch 😀

ty again any other info its apreciated now that u know the psu i have 😀
