I'd like to change between Win10 power plans based on which applications i'm running.
I already know how to make power plan shortcuts, but how can i make them change when apps running.
Forexample if i'm on balanced power mode, i run a game, it should switch to high performance mode. Exit the game and it should switch back to balanced automatically.

The reason why i need this, is because balanced power mode usually have some problem switching between 5% and 100% cpu performance in games, but i don't want sitting constant 100% cpu with high performance mode, when i do lightweight stuff.

Any ideas?

There is no way to change Windows power plan settings while in app, the processor does it by automatically speeding up when needed, then slows back to its normal clock speed. However its worth noting that some aggressive OC disables it making the processor run at high clock speeds even when in idle, making it hotter and more power consuming.

Sorry for the late response, i was away for a while.

What you saying is true, and i'd like to add, that AMD Cool'n Quiet mode address this issue with controlling the cpu voltage and frequency.
But the Windows Power Plan settings override this function. When running in Balanced mode the Cool'n Quite
become active and decrease speed with usage, however when i'm in High Performance mode the system is neglecting Cool'n Quite and runs full speed even in idle, just as you said it. And that would be a perfect scenario, if only i can controll Power Plan settings with the execution and termination of an app.

The thing is, back then when i had a Radeon card, there was a program called RadeonPro which has this function built in.
It could execute scipts when apps starts, and when ended. And i was happy with it. But now i have an Nvidia and the RadeonPro software has obvious problems with it.
So it is possible to do it, but how?
And i have the .bat file already which contains the Power Plans ID, and i can manually switch them by executing this .bat, but i cannot controll to execute them with an app.
I know the solution is just a few inches away, yet is soo annoying that i cannot figure it out.
