I have been reading on a bunch of places different amounts of amps required on the 12v rail for the 290x lightning. I'll just go by the highest i found which was 48. I have the rx850ae psu which has multiple 12v34a rails.

My first question, does anyone know for sure the amps required for the 290x lightning?
Secondly, if I use an 8pin on one 34a rail, and one from a different 34a rail, would that work?

You need 33A on a single rail only(for sure) for the Lightning Edition, since it can OC like a mad man and consume power like one. However, since you have a dual rail power supply and 850W of wattage, you have enough room for your GPU , so you shouldn't worry.

And yes, it would work and wouldn't change anything.
