I have a GTX 1080 FTW from EVGA and didn't realize it required 2 8pin adapters and I'm wondering if a 6 to 8pin adapter will work because I don't want to buy a new PSU
I really don't want to have to buy a new PSU but I will if I need to.No. You can only assume that 6-pin cables can safely carry up to 75W.
You need a new PSU.
If you are still using that TR2 you may end up having to buy a whole new system.I really don't want to have to buy a new PSU but I will if I need to.
I'm not using that TR2 because it's crap and can a 550W run a FTW 1080?If you are still using that TR2 you may end up having to buy a whole new system.
While better than a TR2(not exactly a hard thing to do), I wouldn't run a 1080 with it.EVGA 100-N1-0550-L1 550 N1, 550W
I'm just looking for a budget option that can run a 1080 that has 2 8 pinsWhile better than a TR2(not exactly a hard thing to do), I wouldn't run a 1080 with it.
I appreciate it. Can I use a 600W? I'm trying to stay under $60
I didn't see anything decent for that price.I appreciate it. Can I use a 600W? I'm trying to stay under $60
They have good reviews on Amazon but just wanted to check. ThanksNo, Aresgame is not good.
I appreciate it and I decided to just go with a Corsair CX650msi mag a650bn be ok if you really are cash strapped. (Tier C)
Psu is most critical part so if you can stretch money further or wait until you can afford then i would do so having a performance part like your 1080.

Those are your cheapest options. Maybe a SeaSonic G12 GM if you can find it. It's still reliable.
