My power supply is dead I think, I tried the paperclip test, but as soon as I turn it on, the light goes off on the power block. Though the fan still is running. When I removed the paperclip when unplugged, the light magically turned back on. PSU Issue?

Solution
The paperclip test isn't an indication of the PSU being good or bad or even entirely dead. There is power being fed to it but the issue is whether the power is being fed through to the connectors. You are asked to provide a minimal load on your PSU by having a fan on one end of your PSU connectors but that yet doesn't indicate if it can handle a fully loaded system or if it can be taxed with 50-80% load.

1| You're best bet is to get a PSU tester and try the unit out with it.
2| Initiate a dialogue with the PSU manufacturer and/or reseller and see if a replacement unit can be sent out(provided you're under warranty).

Mind you, it's not advised to open your PSU for repair work and can void your warranty.
