Okay, so I have a rather weird problem here. I am a semi truck driver and I have a 1500 watt inverter. I have had my computer in my truck for a while now. But the thing is, I just upgraded my whole pc. before i had a Corsair 500 watt psu, and everything worked fine. now i upgraded to a rosewill photon 850 watt psu, and ive only had it in my truck a few days. the problem starts here. when i try to turn my computer on, i get an error code on my inverter and it shuts off. the error code says its a short on the AC side, which is what the power is converted to. when i try to turn on my pc, when its plugged in to the inverter, i here a buzz, like a short, and then it turns off immediately. but when i plug into a wall outlet, i dont here that buzz and it runs. I know its not the inverter bc I can still have my xbox one running, and my monitors. I dont know what to do bc im not sure if this falls under the warranty of the psu.

I suspect that the new PC is drawing more power, and that the inverter isn't liking the extra power being used.

I personally would swap the 850w power supply out for a either a 550w or 600w one. Nothing you listed in your new system is going to ever need 850 watts.

There are some power supplies that just do not like being plugged into inverters. And CPU's now have the voltage regulation stuff on the CPU package (instead of on the motherboard), so that could also be a factor. It might be wanting a smoother supply of power than what the inverter is delivering. In any case, swapping out the power supply is probably the best thing to try at this point.
