Solution
OK. What is the actual power supply make and model? Most likely, you would yet another adapter if you wanted the cheaper option. What connections are left available coming from your power supply? Any SATA power connections? Does your motherboard have available 3-pin fan headers? If either of these options are available, you could look into buying a basic SATA to Molex power adapter for your PSU. If connection is available on your motherboard, you could get a molex to 3-pin fan adapter.

It's true it's more a stopgap solution, but have yet to hear actual system specifications. Most likely a very basic older PSU from the pics provided. P45 chipset Core 2 Duo/Quad based from what I can tell from motherboard era. Had built a P5Q-Deluxe Q6600 setup for a family member years back.

That's (somewhat counter intuitively) worse though, as the CPU's consumed more power in those days, 105W for a Q6600, for a 'period' GPU they also consume more power.

Yes, all true there. Without any further info from the OP, not sure what other advice to give them. By sounds of things, buying a more modern higher quality PSU isn't likely an options. Speaking of GPUs around that time, reminds of my 8800 GTX days:) They were legends at the time, lol. People say GPU prices are high now, but when I bought my first 8800 GTX in late 06, it cost me $650. Bought a second for SLI a year later. With two, I could finally "play" Crysis :)
