Power Supply Cable Question

I have an HP Desktop that needs a new power supply. It's a 500-027c desktop. The dvd drive is a laptop version that connects with what looks to be Sata. I'd like to put something other than an HP replacement since it only lasted 3 years. I'm having trouble finding a name brand with this cable. And if anyone know what this connector is exactly that would be a great help.

A picture would help....although I'm thinking that the DVD drive should be connected by a SATA data cable to the MB and a power cable to the PSU. Does this not sound right to you?

That's the SATA data cable.

One end connects to the MB and the other end connects to the drive.

The power supply doesn't connect to that at all.

Here's a link....if you scroll down in the link you will see a power cable and a data cable.

The power cable has 4 wires.

The data cable....just the red one....but there are seven conductors in the red cable you can't see.

That picture is a cable from the power supply. I ended up finding a Slim Sata to Sata adapter that should fix the problem. I was really scratching me head on this one. I do appreciate your input.
