Power supply change but i have a question

i bought a corsair power supply Corsair Builder Series CMPSU-500CXV2 500W ATX Power Supply Active PFC
120MM Fan *3 Year Wrty*


On the board layout .....there are 2 power cable the main one 24 pin and another power PWR1 of 4 pin (near sys_fan1) - the problem is the corsair doesn't have a 4 pin power cable . Question is would the board work without plugging power in PWR1 ?

The 8-pin EPS12V splits into two. One half of it will easily fit in your 4-pin 12V socket.

EDIT: the other thing, is that even those that don't split in half, you can just plug one half of the 8-pin and let the other half hang over the MB. Only one side should easily fit without forcing it in since the pins are shaped.

Is the 8-pin EPS cable a solid 8, or is it 4+4? It probably slides apart; the pic of it on Newegg looks like it does (most do). You would use one of those fours. They're wired the same. Even if it doesn't come apart, you should be able to use four pins on the end. The connector is keyed, so it won't go in if it's wrong.
