Power supply country compatibility

I may be offered a corsair AX 850 from Russia, should this be the case, would it function? Their mains voltage is 220v, whereas mains voltage in the UK is 230v. This used to be the voltage in NI and as far as I'm aware they didn't need appliance changes.

The AC input is 90-264v, 10A at 50/60hz. I take it the AC input is the accepted mains voltage? This is probably a silly question overall, but I want to play it safe.

My personal thought is it is probably one worldwide model that can convert both regions' AC to DC but I don't know for certain. That's what the specs look like to me, but I don't understand much about power supplies outside of voltage rails and tidbits of info from reviews.

As for the possibly shady sounding proposition, a friend's father is insisting on getting me a gift which is rather expensive and I'm trying to be polite.

Given the specs you cite (I presume those are for the PSU in question), there is no problem. The voltage and frequency ranges it can accept cover your UK mains supply characteristics nicely. The amperage spec is the MAX the PSU will draw probably at 110 VAC, so it will actually use half of this amperage or less. The only question you have not answered is whether the plug on the end of the cord will fit into your wall outlet in the UK. You might need to check details of the plug configuration and whether or not there needs to be a particular arrangement of Line and Neutral leads at the plug. I'm in Canada and not fully familiar with UK conventions.

Paperdoc is right! The PSU will work fine; no settings to change.

All you may need is an adapter plug costing around US$ 1 - wait until you receive the PSU and then get the adapter if necessary. These adapters are the same as the ones used by travelers to plug in their electric shavers.

There should be no problem connecting it to the mains supply. Just make sure you have the correct lead to plug it in, since the lead it comes with will have a Russian plug. The PSU accepts a range of voltage inputs, so there is not an issue there.

I have a UK PSU mains cable so I should be okay without buying an adapter.
