I've had this problem for a while now. About a year ago my power supply started making faint clicking noises. At the time I kind of ignored it as it didn't make any difference to my systems performance. Now its ear bleading loud and without wearing headphones it can really drive you insane. After booting it goes down to a bearable but very noticable clicking at about 5 - 20 minutes of running and can sometimes stay on almost all day but it usually stops completely within an hour. I'm very sure that its a power supply because im using a really old power supply and the sound is literally coming from it but im not certain it might be the problem. I'm thinking of replacing the power supply but I want to make sure it will fix the problem and im not wasting my time.

Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600
GPU: GTX 1060 6gb
Memory: 1x16gb
MOBO: ASUS B-350 Plus
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-650TX

Solution
I mean touching fan blades from PSU case inside. Seems it is worth to get PSU out of case and look inside for the source of noise. With extreme caution obviously to avoid electrocuting.
